Breast Reduction

Breast reduction is a very common surgery requested by women to improve the overall appearance of the breast and help relieve back, neck, and shoulder pain. During your consultation, Dr Garfein will discuss your goals for surgery with you when determining the amount of breast tissue to remove. Typically incisions will be made around the nipple, with a vertical line from the nipple to the crease of the breast – this is known as a ‘short-scar’ breast reduction technique. For patients with excessively large breasts, and additional incision may be required underneath the breast that is hidden in the natural crease of the breast (“anchor-scar”).
